Actual List of Materials Available for Sale
Following the publishing of the EU WEEE directive, Hungary was the 4th among the member countries where the stipulation of the directive was put into force from August 13, 2005. Hungary has got 2 years derogation time to effectuate the 4 kg/cap./annum minimum collection demand : so it is by the year 2008 when we have to be able to collect a minimum of 40.000 tons of e-scrap in Hungary.
At Inter-Metalex we started collecting e-scrap material in 1999. The primary source of the waste was the Hungarian Telecom company MATÁV which at that time begun replacing the old crossbar exchanges. Since that Inter-Metalex has vastly expanded its circle of suppliers and as a result it handles over 2500 tons e-scrap annually.
